The last Belfast Boat Express.
This occurred on the morning of Sunday 5th May 1968. The BBE connected with over night ferries twixt Belfast and Heysham, however, there were no overnight Sunday/Monday ferries.
Consequently, the Sunday evening down train terminated at Morecambe and the Monday morning up train started at Morecambe, these trains, therefore, were not boat trains.

We met Peter in late 1967 on the BBE, he lived in Gorton, and by early 1968 he would join the Bolton four in pursuit of steam at the weekends. Unlike the rest of us he was happy to include us in his photos, bless him. He was great fun and a sad loss in 2002.
