Club outing in July 2011, a narrow boat cruiser was hired for a voyage through the 3 mile long Standedge Canal tunnel.We gathered at the visitors centre at the Yorkshire end and after emerging at Diggle on the Lancashire side we had refreshments in The Diggle Hotel. The more intrepid members then hiked back over the hills on a beautiful day to regain our transport.
